Armie Hammer is the lead suspect for a sexual assault reported on 3 February by the police, LAPD Speaker Officer Drake Madison said. The police would not provide additional information on the incident or who made the report.
Earlier Thursday at a video news conference, a woman said that Armie Hammer raped her for four hours in Los Angeles on 24 April 2017, slammed her head against a wall and committed other acts.

Effie was 20 years old when she and Armie Hammer met on Facebook and started a relationship in 2016, and last year they had their last contact, Allred said.
The attorney Armie Hammer stated in a statement that he maintained from the beginning that all his interactions with Effie and each other were “consensual in full, discussed and agreed in advance and participatory with one another.”
The statement called her claims “careful and inappropriate attention,” and stated that “her own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and rejects her outrageous allegations.”
“Mr. Armie Hammer welcomes this chance with the truth on his side to set the record straight,” Andrew Brettler said.
