Today, Fortnite server down reports have been on the rise, with Battle Royale players experiencing a variety of issues. The hugely popular online shooter is currently experiencing login issues, matchmaking issues, and friends disappearing from a user’s friends list. Fortnite players attempting to access Epic Games‘ smash hit have also encountered a ‘Invalid Client’ error when attempting to log in.
The Fortnite outage was timed to coincide with issues with the Epic Games Store and Epic Online Services.
The Fortnite problems and Epic Games online issues started around 1.30pm UK time today, with the official Fortnite Status Twitter account confirming the server issues.
“We are investigating issues where logging into Epic Games accounts fails with the “Invalid Client” error and prevents logging in to the game,” the account tweeted.
“We will keep you updated as soon as this issue is resolved.”
“We are also investigating Friends missing in your friends list,” the account continued.
“We’re aware of an issue with logging into Epic Games accounts,” tweeted the Epic Games Store.
“We will keep you updated as soon as this issue is resolved.”
Since then, the Epic Games Status page has stated that the issues affecting online services have been identified and a fix is being rolled out.
“The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented,” the official Epic status page said about 30 minutes after confirming the server issues.
At the time of writing, the Epic Games Status page reports that a number of aspects of Fortnite are performing poorly.
The following areas of the popular game are covered: game services, login, parties, friends, and messaging, as well as matchmaking.
As the Fortnite and Epic Games server issues erupted, gamers took to Twitter to report their problems and see if others were experiencing the same problems.
