Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were formally called off.

A source close to Lopez confirmed to Fox News that she and the former MLB player are no longer married.

The duo issued a joint statement to TODAY Thursday, weeks after reconciliation.

“We’ve learned we’re happier as friends and look forward to staying so. “We will continue to cooperate and assist each other in our joint ventures and projects,” the pair says in a joint statement.”We wish each other and each other’s children the best. The only other thing we have to do, out of respect for them, is thank everyone who sent kind words and encouragement. “

The first suggestion that the couple were close to breaking up came in March when an initial Page Six story said Lopez was busy in the Dominican Republic filming a movie while Rodriguez was “getting ready for baseball season in Miami.”

The couple initially dismissed speculation they’d call it quits. The singer “On the Floor,” 51, and the 45-year-old former MLB player stated that they were still a couple in a statement shared with Fox News at the time.

A source further reported that Fox News had recently run into some issues, though rumours of their breakup were premature.

The two started dating in February 2017 before entering March 2019. Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 13, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Rodriguez’s daughters, Ella, 12, and Natasha, 16, with his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
