Thandie Newton Returns To Correct Spelling

Thandie Newton wants to return to her name – Thandiwe – with the right spelling.

When she made her first film, thirty years ago and never changed it again, the actress of 48 misspelled her name, but now she wants to go back to the right spelling.

The actress played a character called Thandiwe in the 1991 film “Flirt” and her name was wrong when the character’s name was properly specified in the final credits.

She said: She says: “That’s my name. That’s my name. My name was always the same. This was always my name. What’s mine I’m taking back. “

Thandiwe remembered her abuse as a young Hollywood actress as well.

She added that she talked about what happened: “You know, there is a time when my ghost has changed. And then, I was sixteen. He completely derailed me from me. I was traumatised. I was traumatised. It was certainly a type of PTSD. I was so upset and shocked a young actress was abused by a director and was happening elsewhere and minors abused and how f**** it was. Fundamentally, I waited for someone to come and say, “Now, what are we going to do about it?” I have a seventh sense of abuse and abuse and I think that is one of the reasons that in Hollywood I was greatly dismissed. So long as the cows come home, I’ll talk about it, because I know that I’m going to help someone.”

The ‘Westworld’ star likes to perform and for the first time she felt ‘full’ during her career.

She told Vogue magazine’s May edition: “I find that the performance takes me away more and more because I am more connected with myself than I have ever been, whereas I was happy, before, to have an excuse for another character. I can’t wait to getaway. I had such a low level of self-esteem, really. There I felt entirely acting. “

In a new interview with Vogue published this week, British actress Thandie Newton returns to the correct spelling of her name, Thandiwe, after a decade in Hollywood.

The spelling of her name – which means “beloved” in Shona – was changed in her first acting role in 1991, “Flirting,” at the age of 16, the daughter of a lab technician from the UK, and of a prime minister from Zimbabwe.

Now she’s changing it back, said the Westworld star.

“This is my name. This is my name. My name was always the same. What’s mine, I’m taking back, “As told by the British magazine, she was quoted.

The long-time advocate of women and sexual violence survivors in Hollywood, Newton, has spoken out about racist and sexual abuse.

Newton said during the Vogue interview “Flirting,” the director John Duigan asked her to “be a little darker” and repeatedly alleged that her 39-year-old was embarking on the “consistent” sexual relationship that she previously described.

She recalled other abusive racism and sexual abuse incidents, including a director who used it abusively and then showed footage of the event.

She told the magazine, “I’ve been traumatised.”

And openly, she talked about her struggles with an eating disorder and called her “the most horrendous dance with something to give you life.”

“When all this overlaps, black women really are the nexus,” she stated. “If we support and treat black women, think what else can be cured.”
