Saturday night, Donald Trump dedicated part of a Republican donor speech to mocking Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell. According to numerous accounts of the $400,000-a-ticket, closed-press gathering, the former president called the Kentucky senator “a stupid bitch baby.”

Trump also said his vice-president, Mike Pence, should have had the “courage” to object on January 6 to the U.S. Capitol certification of college performance. Trump says Joe Biden’s loss, 306-232 in the college and more than 7m votes, was the product of electoral fraud. It wasn’t and consistently thrown out of court.

Earlier, the Associated Press reported obtaining a Pentagon timeline of events on January 6, showing Pence insisting military leadership “clean the Capitol” of Trump’s rioters.

Trump did nothing and between Pence’s order and the Capitol being cleared for about six hours. Five people, including a policeman, died and some were recorded singing “hang Mike Pence.” About 400 face charges.

In his remarks at Saturday’s Mar-a-Lago resort, amid a weekend of Republican activities in Florida, some at Trump properties, the former president even insulted Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“You’ve ever seen anyone so crap-filled?” Reportedly, Trump said of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director, Joe Biden’s top medical advisor who was a key member of Trump’s coronavirus taskforce.

Trump also suggested that Covid-19 vaccines be dubbed “Trumpcines” in his honor.

According to Politico, the assault on McConnell concerned Trump’s alleged inability to defend him with adequate intensity in the impeachment trial that followed the Capitol riot.

Trump, who ordered followers to march on the Capitol and “fight like hell,” was charged with insurrection. When only seven Republican senators voted to convict, he was acquitted, not enough to meet the super-majority required. McConnell voted to acquit, then the Senate floor excoriated Trump.

Of the election result certification on January 6, according to the Washington Post, Trump said: “If that were [Chuck] Schumer [the leader of the Democratic Senate] instead of this stupid son of a bitch Mitch McConnell, they would never let it happen. They’re opposed it. “

Trump also blamed McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, who was transport secretary before she resigned over the Capitol riot just before Trump’s end.

“I hired his wife,” Trump told the Post. “Did he ever thank you?”

He also mocked her decision to resign— “She endured too much,” the Post reported saying, his “voice dripping with sarcasm” —and claimed he had secured the Senate seat for her husband.

Trump criticized McConnell before, branding him a “dour, sullen, unsmiling political hack” in February. He allegedly called him a “stone-cold loser” on Saturday night. McConnell didn’t comment immediately.

The former president remains banned over the Capitol riot from social media, but he maintains control and has begun issuing endorsements for the 2022 midterms. Most were in line with the party elite, including supporting Marco Rubio, a Florida senator, and many expected their former presidential rival to draw a challenge from Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

Trump’s second acquittal left him free to run for the White House. He consistently tops Republican voters’ polls on potential 2024 candidates. He allegedly left the possibility unchallenged Saturday night.

The Post said the ex-president ordered Republicans to stay together.

“We can’t have these advertising-like guys,” he said.
