Even after contributing to their charitable fund, the Gates remain among the world’s richest citizens.

Bill Gates and Melinda are divorced, and after 27 years of marriage, the separation probably entails complicated decisions about how to manage their money.

The couple did not sign a prenuptial arrangement until marrying in 1994, according to Tuesday reports.

According to Forbes, Bill Gates is the fourth most wealthy individual in the world with a net value of 130,5bn.

In 1975 Gates left Harvard University with school friend Paul Allen as a technology giant co-founder of Microsoft. At its initial public offering in 1986 Gates owned 49 percent of Microsoft which made it an instant millionaire.

He soon became the richest individual in the world with Microsoft’s exponential rise.

Since then, he has lost the word, partially as a result of his philanthropic contributions.

The growth of other companies has overtaken him. The three top positions in the Forbes wealth list are Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk and Louis Vuitton, boss Bernard Arnault, with his family.

In 1987, soon after a degree in Informatics and economics in the business, Melinda met with Bill at Microsoft.

According to Forbes, she’s “the strongest woman in philanthropy.”

Pivotal Ventures, a women’s, family and social advancement investment and incubation company was created by the MBA holder in 2015.

She has also been the recipient of the $40 million gender equity funds, which will be her first awards this year, from the author and philanthropist who married Jeff Bezos until 2019.

The couple founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle in 2000. It is one of the largest charity organizations in the world with an emphasis on public health, infectious diseases, climate change, and education.

His funding included around $1,75 billion for coronavirus pandemic vaccine programmes, diagnoses and testing.

The foundation finished 2019 with $43.3 billion in net assets, the latest year-round financial reporting on its Web site.

It invested 5 billion dollars on projects, minus the expense of administration, in the United States and around the world that year.

According to the Foundation website, between 1994 and 2018, Melinda and Bill Gates gave the Foundation over $36 billion.

Since 2006, according to filings, Warren Buffett has contributed over $29 billion of his wealth to the Gates Foundation.

The main residence of the pair, the King County Evaluation Department said, is a seven-bedroom vacation rental on Washington Lake priced at $130.8m in 2020.
