Tesla Inc is reviewing almost 6,000 U.S. vehicles since brake caliper bolts could be free, with the possibility of causing a lack of tire pressure, archives disclosed on Wednesday show.
The review covers certain 2019-2021 Model 3 vehicles and 2020-2021 Model Y vehicles. Tesla’s recording with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said it had no reports of accidents or wounds identified with the issue and that the organization will assess and fix, or supplant, the caliper bolts as essential.
Tesla said that free caliper screws could permit the brake caliper to separate and contact the wheel edge, which could cause a lack of tire pressure in “uncommon conditions.” The organization stated that if a vehicle is damaged due to a loose or missing clasp, it will arrange for a tow to the nearest help community for repair.
The recording with NHTSA said Tesla was made mindful in December of a field episode including a 2021 Model Y vehicle with a missing clasp on the driver-side back brake caliper.
The organization has since taken measures to forestall extricating of the bolts in the gathering interaction.
