‘No constitutional amendment is absolute,’ Biden said.

On Thursday, Lauren Boebert, GOP Colorado Rep., claimed that President Biden was a “tyrant,” arguing that the Second Amendment was not “absolute” as executive measures to curtail gun violence were unveiled.

Boebert, a first-time congresswoman and defender of outspoken gun rights, criticized Biden’s remarks in the Rose Garden the same day concerning the gun control steps of his administration. During his speech, Biden argued that none of his acts “in any way impacted the second amendment.” The second amendment was never intended to protect all types of weapons.

“No constitutional amendment is full,” Biden said. “In a packed movie theatre, you can’t shout ‘fire’ and call it freedom of speech. From the outset, you couldn’t possess any weapons you wanted to possess. From the very beginning of the Second Amendment, certain citizens were not permitted to have guns. “

Shortly after the address, Boebert argued that the second amendment had been wrongly presented by Biden

“There is an absolute second amendment,” Boebert wrote on Twitter. “It is a dictator to everyone who says otherwise.”

Biden outlined a series of arms-control initiatives, including tighter controls on so-called “firearms,” pistol-stabilizing braces, and a recommendation that the Justice Department draft a “red flag” law that temporarily prohibits people from owning weapons classified as potential threats.

Biden: The President | The White House

After a gunman killed ten people at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, the President promised swift action. The White House observed that the gunman had a stabilising strap in the mass shooting, which could make a weapon “more secure and precise yet still concealable.”

Last month, Boebert accused Biden of ‘politicizing’ the mass shootings in Boulder in order to rally support for stricter gun control measures. The congresswoman took a look earlier this year after the declaration that she wanted to wear a weapon on the floor of the house.

In February, during a virtual House committee meeting, democracy makers criticised Boebert for showing many weapons in the background.
