VETERANS DAY

There might be no greater spot to spend Veterans Day than at America’s public parks destinations. While places like the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Gettysburg National Military Park normally ring a bell, military roots run profound across each of the 423 National Park Service destinations – and on Veterans Day, admission to every one of them is free. The absolute first officers at America’s most punctual public parks were U.S. Cavalry, including Buffalo Soldiers who cut out parks like Sequoia and Yosemite. During WWII, troops prepared at Mount Rainier and looked for rest and recovery at parks like Hot Springs and Denali. Horde landmarks and commemorations the nation over stand recognition for administration individuals all through U.S. history.
