Forrester fans, rejoice: Dr. Taylor Hayes is making a triumphant return to The Bold and the Beautiful.EW has learned exclusively that veteran TV actress Krista Allen will take over the iconic role on December 10th. She steps into the very large stilettos left by Hunter Tylo, who played the psychiatrist who stole Ridge Forrester’s heart from 1990 to 2019. Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) put Taylor’s romance with Ridge to the test on a regular basis, and the love triangle became one of the daytime drama’s main plot lines.
According to an insider, the show attempted to contact Tylo about reprising the role but was unsuccessful. Following Tylo’s departure from B&B in 2019, the show attempted to explain Taylor’s absence by claiming she was doing missionary work in another country. But she missed significant events in her children’s lives: her son Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was undergoing brain surgery, and her daughter Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was taking pills.
Steffy recently married and had a son with Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). Fans were left wondering, “Where has ma gone?” Allen got her start in the soap industry as Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives from 1996 to 1999. She went on to appear in CSI, The X-Files, Baywatch, Two and a Half Men, and Monk, among other shows. She most recently appeared on 9-1-1 and in the TV film I Almost Married a Serial Killer. Allen is set to begin filming episodes of B&B in Los Angeles on October 28. Her first scenes will be with her daughter and ex-husband Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), who has been dating Brooke for quite some time. Is it possible that it’s time for a change? The Bold and the Beautiful airs on CBS during the week.
