The slogan “dance knows no boundaries and no place” in the midst of the pandemic is used by a group of artists in the Egean In the project, students from the Dokuz Eylül University Conservatory Ballet Dancing Department accompanied instructors and dancers of Šeneszmir.
They danced in the city’s squares, parks, bazaars, and side streets together for the project that took place as part of the World Dance Day, April 29.
Precautions taken in crowded regions against COVID-19 pandemic have shown dancers’ talent performing various forms of dance, such as ballet, Latin and hip hop, whereas everyday life in the city continues.
As part of the project’s Alsancak Train Station and several busy sites, the director of the Tan Sağtürk Academy – Mavişehir School, os Diepek Santürk, has pointed out that dance is of high importance in physical health.
“We found creative solutions ourselves, of course, although during the pandemic period we were stuck in the enclosed spaces of our homes. However, we always strive for freedom to move under the lights of our studios and stages,” Santürk said.
Sanıtürk said that they didn’t perform on the stage and perform shows and danced in various parks, bazaars, roads and even sidewalks during the pandemic era, that by turning the open air venues into a kind of stage they celebrated World Dance Day.
In the project, students from the Dokuz Eylül University Conservatory Ballet Dancing Department accompanied instructors and dancers of hip-hop, Latin, ballet, waacking and street jazz with them to perform on streets and celebrate World Dance Day.
