Disneyland theme parks will officially reopen on Wednesday 30 April 2021.
On the 29th of April, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will reopen at a limited capacity. At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disney Vacation Club Villas are set to open on May 2nd. Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Hotel will reopen at a later date, according to the company.
Bob Chapek, Chairman and CEO of Disney, said earlier this month that Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure will open again in late April, but on Wednesday it said the gates will open for guests on 30 April.
“We saw the excitement, the desire for people to return to our parks throughout the world,” Chapek said. “We have been operating for about nine months at Walt Disney World now and demand is surely high.”
All visitors aged 3 and up need to be booked. There will not be an immediate resumption of events that draw large group meetings, such as parades.
Southern California’s parks closed on 14 March 2020 due to a pandemic of coronavirus.
More than 10,000 employees will return to work in their announcement on Wednesday.
According to park officials, capacity will be limited, and only residents of California will be permitted to visit.
With capacity constraints in place since April 1, California health officials announced early in March that they were able to resume some outdoor activities. In that plan, theme parks were included.
The park would not open on April 1st, as originally announced, because 10,000 deposed cast members would have to be rehired and retrained to meet new state requirements, according to Chapek.
Disneyland will be so much more fun after all these crisis and pandemic all have been through
