St. Patrick’s Day : On March 17th, Ireland’s embassies and consulates around the world will commemorate St. Patrick’s Day . This includes an Irish America “Shades of Green” event hosted by the Irish Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Coveney, Ireland’s foreign minister, announced the plans for St. Patrick’s Day in 2021, saying: “For the second year in a row, the pandemic will severely curtail our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations abroad.
“In order to meet this challenge, the Ireland diplomatic missions network is planning a series of virtual community, business, and artistic events in addition to its traditional activity and visit programme for this St. Patrick’s Day
The spirit and interest of the St. Patrick’s Day is spread and encouraged world wide . though this year might not be as the last few years. but the spirit is always alive and awake in the hearts . with all precautions not in an usual tradition of gathering with all your friends and family . but keeping a positive hope of the coming years to live these traditions back again.
In partnership with a range of Irish collective bodies, Shades of Green, including the Irish & Celtic Festival; Irish Arts Centre, New York; Irish Network USA; the Network of Irish Cultural Centers, North America; New York Irish Center and Culture Ireland and Tourism Ireland have been developed. This “Shades of Green” programme will feature artists from across the USA and Ireland as well as over a dozen outstanding Irish Americans who will reflect on the history and traditions of the Community as well as on community resilience in the aftermath of COVID-19.
A St. Patrick’s Day of Irish America celebrations will be hosted in the United States by Ireland’s Ambassador, Daniel Mulhall, and will preside over on the evening of 17 March, alongside the Ireland General Consuls in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
On a common Saint-Day, Patrick’s The St.Patrick’s Day marching bands, bagpipers, pub owners and songwriters would prepare for an Irish celebration when some 13 million guinea pin around the globe are consumed (enough to fill two and a half Olympic-sized swimming pools). Unfortunately, this year, the ongoing pandemic in Covid-19 will lead to deserted roads in Dublin and the rest of Ireland for the second year in a row.
