The Fenty planner, 33, and the “Chun-Li” rapper, 38 — who originally cooperated on Rihanna’s 2010 tune “Pouring Men” — modeled for a photograph with Minaj’s significant other, Kenneth Petty, and the couple’s child, in addition to Rihanna’s sweetheart, rapper A$AP Rocky.
Minaj posted a photograph of the entire group from the get together on her Instagram. In the snap, the two couples sit next to each other on a lounge chair with Minaj’s child sitting on her lap in the center. Rihanna smiles as she inclines toward her sweetheart, who has his arm folded over her.
In a subsequent post, she and Rihanna present for a video, evaluating various plots for the camera before Rihanna says, “Caribbean things, you realize what I’m sayin’?” While the two artists haven’t delivered a tune together in years, they recently teamed up on the 2011 track “Fly,” which showed up on Minaj’s hit collection Pink Friday, following Rihanna’s “Pouring Men” the year earlier. In a Facebook post from 2010 for each MTV News, Minaj called the “Fly” songstress “one of my outright faves.”
“I needed to work with Rihanna for quite a while. I’m exceptionally glad for her achievements; particularly since she was brought into the world on an island like me,” Minaj said then, at that point, alluding to her Trinidadian legacy and Rihanna’s Barbadian roots. “This tune is a female strengthening tune,” she added. “However at that point once more, it’s not explicit to simply ladies. It talks about flying, taking off high despite each and every lone misfortune that comes your direction.”
Rihanna, who as of late commended the five-year commemoration of her collection ANTI, has been keeping occupied with her stunningly fruitful Fenty business and her new relationship with A$AP Rocky, 32, whom she was first reputed to date in November. While they cooperated on her 2013 Diamonds World Tour, with A$AP Rocky opening for her U.S. event dates, and have been dear companions for quite a long time, the two didn’t make their relationship official until this year. A$AP Rocky called his sweetheart “my first love” and “my woman” for GQ’s June/July 2021 main story, telling the magazine it’s “such a great deal better” to be seeing someone. “Such a ton better when you got ‘the One.’ She adds up to presumably, similar to, 1,000,000 of different ones,” he clarified.
A source told PEOPLE in August that the couple “developed” from being companions to entering a “strong sentiment.”
“They definitely knew and regarded one another and it has quite recently developed from that point,” a music source said, clarifying that their fellowship gave them “an extraordinary establishment.”
“They wanted to chuckle and have a ton of fun together before they even dated,” the source added. “The entirety of that makes for a strong sentiment now.”
