The opening credits for the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime were once again created by Tokyo-based animation studio Kamikaze Douga. And, once again, Kamikaze Douga outdid himself.The sixth instalment of Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
The show will premiere on Netflix on December 1st, followed by a broadcast on Japanese television at a later date. David Production will handle the animation, as it has done since the first season of the current series debuted in 2012. We’ve already seen the reveal trailer for Stone Ocean, and here’s the official synopsis: But it’s Kamikaze Douga’s newly revealed opening credits sequence that has everyone talking.
The Tokyo-based studio is well-known for expertly blending CGI and traditional 2D animation. This is a studio whose motto is “Compromise is death.”The studio previously worked on opening sequences for the 2012 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV anime, as well as the seasons that followed, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Egypt Arc.
With clever camerawork and slick presentation, the latest opening showcases Kamikaze Douga’s CG skills once again.CG has a bad reputation among some anime fans, but Kamikaze Douga once again demonstrates that, yes, computer animation can be done well and take advantage of the inherent technical abilities that it provides. CG anime is improving thanks to studios like Kamikaze Douga, which see CG as an asset rather than a detriment.
