Vanessa, 38, was happy on Sunday after her romantic event to celebrate her 20th anniversary of the marriage. “Congratulations on your anniversary, baby. I admire you. ,,,,,,,,, “She captioned a photo of the couple kissing at the altar.
Reflecting on their love for one another, she continued by sharing an old video of Kobe discussing their enduring bond. “We’re having a good time,” he says in the clip. “I adore her. We are also best friends. It’s a gift.”
Vanessa captioned the video, “I love you for now, forever, and always @kobebryant.”
Additionally, Vanessa received a thoughtful flower arrangement from Pau Gasol, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers alongside the late NBA star, his wife Catherine McDonnell, and their daughter — named Gianna after Vanessa and Kobe’s late daughter.
“Thank you,” Vanessa wrote alongside a photo of the heart-shaped bouquet of roses.
“Happy Anniversary to two incredible soulmates and twenty years of true love,” McDonnell captioned an Instagram Story. “V+KB, we adore you.”
At the time when Kobe was 20, Vanessa was 17, Kobe and Vanessa first met in a music video set in 1999. After 18 years, Vanessa was proposed by the basketball star, and on April 18, 2001 the couple tied their nude.
They also welcomed together four children: the sons of Natalia, 18, Bianka, 4, Capri, 1 and the 13-year-old Gianna, who died in the Calabasas, California crash of a 26-year-old helicopter alongside her father.
Earlier in this year the power of her “incredible” daughters opened up Vanessa to PEOPLE
“They know mommy has tough days, but it makes me straighten up to get through for them when I see their faces when they know I cry,” she said. “I oppose it by making them smile. … always find light in the dark.” “I cannot say I’m strong every day [and] I don’t have to say that I can not survive the next few days,” she said, adding, “I’m helping my girls smile through pain.” “I can’t say I am strong every day.”
She added, “This gives me strength.
