Today, learning about how youngsters have been doing the ‘different’ in their chosen industries can instil more hope, positivity and inspiration in many other young enthusiasts and individuals who wish to replicate success like the established names in their respective fields and industries, especially in the sports world. Knowing more about these young talents proves what really needs to be done in the vast sports world and how people can go about doing the unusual and building a life of their choice, their own way. We came across one such high-performing and talented basketball player from the US, who as a teenager has already spellbound people with his grit, passion and devotion to the sport and has achieved exponential levels of success in the game at a young age; he is Cameron Mercadel.
From the beginning, if anything that Cameron Mercadel felt a close inclination towards; it was everything related to basketball. His talent and love for basketball also come from his parents, who have been great as college basketball players in their prime years. Cameron Mercadel confesses that whatever little talent he has in him and the knowledge and basketball intelligence he has gained at such a young age is because of his father, who became his basketball trainer and first personal coach. He also found an amazing life coach in his father, who taught him important lessons, which helped him in his journey both in basketball and in life.
He is an Orange County, a Californian young lad who has gained insights not just from his father but also from other coaches, who have helped him hone his skills in the game and multiply his knowledge. The teenager basketball genius confesses that he trains at least four hours a day and has been working each day relentlessly to improve his stamina, strength, agility and speed. His immense love and passion for basketball have allowed him to head into the high school varsity team. His early success has helped him get featured in a docu-series about young athletes, which already has a viewership of half a million on YouTube.
He has also been a subject of one of ‘No Days Off Episodes‘ of Whistle Sports. Even Jason Malone, the president of Playmaker Network, couldn’t resist appreciating this youngster’s talent, basketball intelligence, maturity and love for the game. Cameron Mercadel has become a basketball influencer of sorts and has gone ahead in becoming an inspiration to the world, making other youngsters believe in their dreams and motivating them to take pertinent actions to turn those dreams into a reality.
He is all excited to hit the court after a long break from the pandemic and also has a show coming up on YouTube in April on Whistle Sports called ‘A Shot At The Champ‘.
