A month before he went back to an exhibition at the age of 44, Floyd Mayweather wound himself up in an altercation during the fighting news conference. The Famer’s boxing hall faces Logan Paul in a pay-per-view event on 6th June at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium. He squared on Thursday — kind of — with Paul’s brother, Jake, who was scuffling when he took the cap from Mayweather.
Apparently incensed that both Pauls were called “fake fighters” by Mayweather, Jake Paul confronted the former champion on the same night. In what seemed like a staged meeting, Jake Paul grabbed the White Baseball Cap from Mayweather, and “safety” jumped between the two as Mayweather sprang up to him.
“What I shall do, I don’t have to talk about. What I will do is known in the world, “Mayweather said. Mayweather said. “In the same night I’m ready to fight both.”
Mayweather spoke to The Athletic later Thursday, saying that he felt Paul had not respected the scuffle.
“I don’t want to be irresponsible,” he said. “You can’t continue to touch and disrespect me.”
But Mayweather also admitted that some hype never hurts before.
“He wanted to receive some attention from Jake Paul. I did that, “He said. He said.
In the meantime Paul still enjoyed it all and posted a “gotcha hat” video of it in his lower leg on Instagram.
With 27 knock-outs during a career in which Mayweather won world titles in five divisions over three decades, Mayweather had a 50-0 record. Among the adversaries he beat were Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya before he retired in 2015 – but Conor McGregor came to an end with mixed martial arts fighter in 2017.
Mayweather is facing a star created on the internet in the 26-year-old Logan Paul. In 2019, Paul began boxing with a 6-round bout against the YouTube star fellow KSI following more than 20 million on YouTube. Paul will have a 6 inch advantage over Mayweather, a former high school wrestler, but he obviously gives up plenty of experience and skill.
