Pfizer Vaccines Will Be Given To Children Aged 12 To 15, But Moderna Will Not Be Accepted.

Sweden’s public fitness employer stated on Monday it endorsed using Pfizer-BioNTech‘s Comirnaty vaccine towards COVID-19 for youngsters between 12 and 15, opting towards rival Moderna’s Spikevax.

In July, the European Medicines Corporation approved the use of Comirnaty in cans, while Spikevax was approved for children over the age of 12.

“All in all, we see the purpose of selecting the vaccine that we know the most about and that is the most well-tested with regards to vaccinating youngsters between 12 and 15 years of age,” Anders Tegnell, head of department and country epidemiologist at the fitness agency, said.

The employer stated that there were more facts about Comirnaty’s use on children.

“This is why Spikevax isn’t always recommended for the youngest age institution in Sweden,” the enterprise stated in an announcement.

In September, the enterprise stated that children aged 12 and over might be given a COVID vaccination starting Oct. 11.
