Adam Warlock has been found in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the upcoming Marvel Studios sequel, Will Poulter will play the classic Marvel character.
James Gunn is writing and directing the project, which is set to be released on May 3, 2023, and is currently in production. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan will reprise their roles as Guardians of the Galaxy.According to sources, a number of actors have been vying for the role since at least late August, with Bridgerton breakout Regé-Jean Page and 1917’s George MacKay on the shortlist.”Will Poulter, welcome to the Guardians family. “See you in a couple weeks,” Gunn tweeted after the casting was announced.Warlock’s inclusion in the MCU was teased in a post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Warlock first appeared in Fantastic Four Nos. 66 and 67 in 1967, created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The two-part plot revolved around evil scientists who used cloning and genetic modification to create the perfect human being, referred to only as Him. Jim Starlin, a writer and artist, revived the character in 1975 and later brought him to new heights of popularity by including him in his 1990s Infinity Gauntlet trilogy and books such as Warlock and the Infinity Watch, where he served as a wise defender of reality itself.
Poulter is best known for his roles in The Revenant, Detroit, and The Maze Runner, and he can be seen in the upcoming Hulu drama Dopesick, which premieres on October 13. WME represents him.
