Danny wishes they could sometimes get ahead of it before people were murdered.

He walks down the stairs and tells her, “Like this,” there is a poster of a missing girl, Angie Shaw, and her brother David is looking for her.

When Danny notices David handing out flyers, he approaches him. Danny tells David that if they don’t find his sister, he doesn’t have to because they will.Janko learns at the station that her father is being held in a cell. She goes to see him, and he tells her that he was released from prison a few weeks ago, and that he is now back behind bars, but that it is nothing serious, and that he will be released. Her father has been transferred to central booking.Anthony is down by the river; a gun was discovered in an old case of his; if it is the gun, he may have imprisoned an innocent girl.

Abigail informs Frank that the archbishop, Kevin, has come to see him. He’s there because his father, Mike MacDougal, had his apartment vandalised last night, and he’s a little shaken up, but he’ll be fine. Frank believes someone profiled him as an easy target because he spends most of his days outside the precinct with a bullhorn screaming “defund the cops.” Kevin claims he has the right to free speech and to dial 911. Kevin says that someone in the department leaked the 911 call tape, and Frank laughs.

Kevin informs Frank that he has embarrassed the church because someone in his department leaked confidential information. Kevin asks him which is more important: his job or his faith.Janko is walking out of the precinct with her father, and he expresses his gratitude. She informs him that the trespassing charges have not been dropped. When she asks where he is staying, he turns around and kisses her on the cheek before leaving.

She informs him that unless he has a verifiable address, he will be unable to travel.When Danny and Baez meet with David, he tells them that their mother died when they were young, and his sister Angie had to wait on their father hand and foot until the day he died. Danny says they’re on it, and David asks if they’re serious because the cops have been pretty useless. Danny says that’s them and that’s him.

Anthony brings in the gun, which is in a plastic bag with river water inside, and places it on Erin’s desk. He claims that one of the last cases he solved while working for the NYPD was the homicide of a black Lotus boy. Jane Jones, a member of an East New York female gang, was arrested by him. Although Jane claimed she did not do it, she did throw the gun in the river instead – and this could be the gun, and she could have told the truth. Erin informs him that she is returning the gun to detective Eubanks so she can properly catalogue it, and that they are proceeding with caution.Danny is given 24 hours at the station to solve his case because the chief does not want them taking stray cases off the street.When Jamie arrives home and sees the couch set up as a bed, her father emerges from the shower. Jamie claims he had no idea they were sheltering fugitives.

Jamie tells her they can find a motel somewhere in town, and Eddie tells him it will only be a few days. He is concerned that she will cry herself to sleep, as he always does.Jamie is working at the kitchen table the next morning when Eddie’s father awakens. They have words, Jamie tells him to take a hot shower, make calls, and find another place to live while he counts his blessings that he has an angel for a daughter.

When Frank says hello, the arch bishop is walking down the aisle in church, telling Father McDougall to dial it down. He is there to meet Father McDougall and ease tensions. Sid is on hand as a backup.Danny informs Baez that he found David’s sister Angie at a soup kitchen where she went to apply for a job.When Anthony runs into an old client, she says she remembers everything like it was yesterday. Erin rushes in and tells Anthony that this meeting is overdue.Eddie and Jamie are preparing dinner at home when her father tells Jamie that he could forget his past if he didn’t bring it up to his face every five seconds.Danny and Baez locate Angie, who claims David is her ex-fiancé and has been stalking her for months. Danny tells her they can take her to the squad room and get her an order of protection. Danny believes David followed them there because Angie’s keys were left on the kitchen table.The family learns at Sunday dinner that Eddie’s father is living with them and is surprised that they did not invite him to dinner. Frank invites everyone in her family to the table. When they return home, Eddie’s father appears to have left. Janie informs her that he has a spy camera installed. They see a big guy come into the apartment and take her father away, grabbing her father’s arm.Erin informs Anthony that she has officially reopened his case.Danny and Baez search Angie’s house, and Danny discovers her phone. He reads from text that they were both meeting at a small park near Battery Park. Meanwhile, Jamie and Eddie are looking for her father. They find him just in time, and he is left with a broken nose but is otherwise unharmed.

Danny and Baez come across Angie and David, who is proposing to her with a ring in one hand and a knife in the other. She flees, and Danny pursues David, who runs into traffic and is hit.Anthony investigates the case and discovers that he was correct; he convicted the correct woman, who committed the crime.
