MAC MILLER

Although it is not a collection of new music from Mac Miller’s camp, the release of this classic mixtape has fans excited. Faces was released on Mother’s Day in 2014, but fans can now listen to Miller’s songs on streaming services. In anticipation of Faces’ re-release, a new music video for one of the album’s tracks, “Colors and Shapes,” was released last month. Director Sam Mason issued a statement about the posthumous video at the time. “To me, the track felt very visual, as if it existed in its own world.

This atmospheric nighttime location that was at times dangerous and at times comforting, then I saw a picture of [Mac Miller’s dog] Ralph and a storey emerged, “Mason stated. “To flesh it out, I asked Malcolm’s family to send me bits and pieces from his childhood, such as scenes from the town where he grew up, objects and toys from his room—small pieces of his life that I extrapolated outwards and used to inspire the storey. It’s intended to be a video about childhood—growing up as an artist and the highs and lows of that experience. It’s a look at an artist’s emotional, difficult, perilous, but noble path.”We’re just as excited to revisit this project as you are, so stream Faces and take a trip down memory lane Tracklist.
