All Time Low has responded to recent allegations levelled against the band’s Jack Barakat of inappropriate behaviour with an underage female fan.Today (Oct. 25), a female accuser accused the musician of sexually assaulting her while she was underage, revealing that previous attempts to share her storey were met with “influxes of hatred from the masses.” She stated that she felt there had been a shift with the #MeToo movement and that she would try to share her storey one more time. The Twitter account associated with her storey, however, has since been suspended, and the tweets are no longer available.A woman claimed in a TikTok video weeks before that she was invited onto the tour bus of a famous pop-punk band when she was 13 years old.
She didn’t say who the artist was, but she did leave several comments pointing to the band she was referring to. According to a new statement from the band, they initially refrained from commenting because they felt there were glaring inconsistencies in the accusations and that speaking on the matter would have elevated and escalated what they claim is false. The band writes in their posting that they are investigating the source of the allegations and later adds, “It is difficult and disheartening to have to make this statement knowing that the allegations against our camp are completely unfounded and false, but at this point it is of the [utmost] importance to us that you know we hear you, stand with victims, and stand collectively for truth.” All Time Low Responds to Sexual Assault Allegations With Fan |
