Ryan Phillippe does not want his children to see his hit film Cruel Intentions. In a new interview, the 47-year-old actor admitted that he isn’t pushing his children, Ava, 22, and Deacon, 17, to watch the R-rated cult classic film that launched him and their mother, Reese Witherspoon, to stardom.”I haven’t checked in with them about it now that they’re both of age,” Ryan told E! News.
“I’m not sure if it would be creepy for them. In some ways, it wouldn’t be the most appetising or appealing idea for me to think about watching my parents do some of the things that their parents do in that movie.” Ryan and Reese, 45, play toxic love interests in Cruel Intentions. The film came out in 1999, the same year they married.
In 2007, they divorced. Ryan is fairly certain that Ava and Deacon have seen a few Cruel Intentions scenes thanks to YouTube.”You know what, I’m sure they’ve seen clips and stuff like that on social media, but I’m not sure if they’ve actually watched the movie,” Ryan continued.
“I think it would embarrass me a little bit, you know, I still believe it holds up very well, but it was quite racy. It was a very R-rated film, with a lot of R in it.”
