According to the Sunday Times of London, model and actress Emily Ratajkowski claims in her new book that she was groped by singer Robin Thicke in 2013 while filming the hit song Blurred Lines.Ratajkowski claims in her upcoming book, “My Body,” which will be released on November 9, that Thicke grabbed her bare breasts during the filming of the music video.
According to the Times, she wrote, “Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind.” “I moved away instinctively, looking back at Robin Thicke.” He stumbled backward, his eyes hidden behind his sunglasses, with a goofy grin on his face. My gaze was drawn to the darkness beyond the set.” Diane Martel, the model’s director, yelled out to her, asking, “Are you OK?” Diane Martel directed the video and confirmed Ratajkowski’s claims to the New York Times.
“I remember the moment he grabbed her breasts,” she said to the New York Times. “Each hand has one. As they were both in profile, he stood behind her.”Ratajkowski wrote, “I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body.” “I didn’t respond — not really, not as much as I should have.”The singer had been drinking, according to Martel, and he apologised after the incident. She told the newspaper that she had taken precautions to ensure that women felt at ease on set.
“Robin apologised sheepishly,” Martel says. “As if he knew it was wrong but didn’t understand how Emily might have felt.”Ratajkowski had not previously written about the incident, but she was reminded of it years later when she noticed Thicke had blocked her on Instagram.According to the publisher’s description of the book, the 30-year-old model’s book will include essays that chronicle moments in her life while exploring topics such as “feminism, sexuality, and power, of men’s treatment of women and women’s rationalisations for accepting that treatment.
“Thicke has yet to respond publicly to Ratajkowski’s allegations. His representatives have been contacted by CBS News for comment.
