In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Vincent D’Onofrio Denies Kingpin’s Return.

SPIDER MAN

Vincent D’Onofrio has denied that he will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Daredevil star’s performance as the Kingpin was one of the most lauded aspects of the much-missed Netflix series, and fans are eager to see more of the ubervillain once Marvel Studios resurrects the Man Without Fear. And all signs point to Charlie Cox reprising Matt Murdock in the upcoming Spider-Man film for the first time since 2018. But don’t expect to see D’Onofrio in the film.

In response to a fan’s question about whether he’ll reprise his role as Fisk in No Way Home, D’Onofrio stated that he won’t, but that he’s excited to see the film because he’s heard good things about it. “I’m excited to see it,” he said. “I’m not in it, but I hear it’s a really good movie.”

Because Kingpin is almost as much associated with the webhead as he is with the hornhead, Marvel fans have been waiting for years to see D’Onofrio square off against Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

It’s something the Jurassic World actor has expressed interest in as well. But don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen this time. Sure, a few other NWH stars have denied things we know are true, but it’s easy to believe D’Onofrio is on the same page here. There can’t possibly be room for a Kingpin cameo in the threequel because there’s so much else going on.

But the good news is that Cox’s return in this one paves the way for more from the Daredevil universe in the franchise’s future. The possibility of a continuation or relaunch of the Netflix show – which appears to be headed for either Disney Plus or Hulu – has been widely discussed. Though Marvel will most likely put their own spin on things, the fan-favorite cast is expected to remain.
