The Biden management is reviewing how it could get cash to Florida school districts if the nation’s governor, Ron DeSantis, makes precise threats to withhold pay from college leaders who require masks for college students.
A maximum of Florida’s schools will reopen this week at full capacity. DeSantis, a Republican, has warned the country should impose financial penalties on districts that mandate masks, the modern-day in a chain of movements aimed at brandishing their laissez-faire credentials.
Many faculty officials and public health specialists say masks are needed to protect college students and teachers, and President Joe Biden has clashed with DeSantis over the issue.

DeSantis’s office did not at once reply to a request for comment.
