John Schneider is attempting to preserve the “Dukes of Hazzard” legacy. The iconic country comedy series premiered in 1979 and ran until 1985, with Tom Wopat as Luke Duke and Schneider as his cousin Bo Duke.
The use of the Confederate battle flag stamped on the roof of Bo’s ’69 Dodge Charger, named General Lee, has since drawn criticism.
Schneider, 61, addressed the controversy surrounding the car, telling Fox News that “the older, uneducated generation wanted to remove it from the series, from the airwaves.” “There’s a group of people who seem to base their values on getting rid of what they despise.” “I’ve always based people’s values on what they’re for,” the “Smallville” star went on.
