Zoë Kravitz Says She “Destroyed” Taylor Swift’s Bathroom All Because of a Snake
During a wildfire stay at Taylor Swift’s Beverly Hills home, Zoë Kravitz accidentally wrecked a bathroom trying to retrieve her mom’s escaped pet snake.

Los Angeles, August 13 EST: It’s not every day your house guest accidentally demolishes a bathroom but if you’re Taylor Swift, that’s apparently just a Tuesday during wildfire season.
Zoë Kravitz recently confessed that she “destroyed” part of Swift’s Beverly Hills home while crashing there with her mom, Lisa Bonet, earlier this year. The reason? A missing snake. Naturally.
The Setup Wildfires, Friends, and a 1930s Mansion
Back in early 2025, as California’s wildfires sent residents scrambling for safety, Swift extended an invite to Kravitz and Bonet to stay at her place a swanky, old-Hollywood home that looks like it belongs in a black-and-white movie. They stayed for two weeks, rode out the chaos, and everything was going smoothly until the snake incident.
On their last day, Bonet’s pet snake (yes, really) named Orpheus slithered into a hole in the upstairs bathroom wall. And that’s when things went full chaos-mode.
Operation Snake Recovery Chaos Unleashed
According to Kravitz who told the story with a wince and a laugh on Late Night with Seth Meyers she, her mom, and Swift’s house manager went full home-renovation-mode trying to retrieve the rogue reptile.
“We were like, ‘We’re getting this snake back,’” she said. Crowbars were involved. A built-in banquette was ripped out. Tiles flew. Walls got scratched. The bathroom didn’t survive.
“We essentially destroyed Taylor’s bathroom,” Kravitz admitted. “Like destroyed it.”
Taylor Swift Found Out And Just Laughed?
Kravitz tried to keep the whole disaster under wraps, hoping to get the place fixed before Swift found out. But that plan didn’t quite work. As she put it, “Of course Taylor found out because she’s Taylor Swift. She has people.”
Still, in peak Taylor fashion, she reportedly took it all with humor and grace. No public drama. No snake-gate TikTok soft launch. Just a very expensive bathroom and one hell of a story.
“She was so cool about it,” Kravitz said, describing Swift as a “gracious, generous host” who didn’t make a big deal out of the whole crowbar-to-the-banquette situation.
Album Title Idea “Orpheus (The Bathroom Sessions)”
During the interview, Seth Meyers joked that this sounded like classic Swift songwriting material heartbreak, destruction, the emotional fallout of a snake in the wall. Kravitz even pitched a potential title “Orpheus.” (Swift’s actual upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, drops later this year so fans can probably rule out any serpent-inspired ballads for now.)
Still, in the grand tradition of Snake Era Easter eggs and Swiftian lore, some fans are already joking about hidden tracklists and marble tile metaphors.
Celebrity Friendships They’re Just Like Us (Except, Not at All)
This whole story is absurd, but also kind of perfect. It’s got everything wildfire evacuations, accidental demolition, famous women with pet snakes, and Taylor Swift being unbothered in her own Beverly Hills compound.
More than anything, it’s a reminder that even in the glammed-up, high-security, curated-to-perfection world of A-list friendships, things still go hilariously off the rails. And if you’re lucky, you come out with a repaired bathroom, a forgiven debt, and maybe a great late-night story.
As for Orpheus? He’s fine. And probably plotting his next escape.
