Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Knocks Out ‘Sirens’ From Netflix’s Top Spot After 2.5-Year Wait

It took two and a half years, a few memes, and a whole lot of patience — but Ginny & Georgia is finally back, and it’s not playing. The third season of the teen drama-comedy has officially ended the surprise reign of Sirens on Netflix’s Top 10 list, snatching the #1 spot and giving fans the closure they’ve been thirsting for.

What Happened?

For weeks, the charts were ruled by Sirens, a five-episode miniseries that somehow outlasted even Monday Night RAW reruns. But on June 8, Ginny & Georgia Season 3 leapt from a modest #8 debut all the way to #1. The comeback was swift — and emotional — for viewers who’ve been left on a season 2 cliffhanger since early 2022.

Netflix’s long delay between seasons (blame part-strike, part-radio silence) led to the show’s young cast literally aging out of their teenage looks — turning the gap into a running internet joke. “They left as high schoolers and came back as college grads,” quipped one fan on Instagram. And yet, the show’s magnetic mix of suburban chaos, mother-daughter friction, and small-town secrets has clearly held up.

Why Fans Are Talking

Apart from the sheer relief of finally getting answers, fans are celebrating the fact that Ginny & Georgia didn’t get the dreaded Netflix axe — the platform famously pulls the plug on most series by season two. In fact, Ginny & Georgia was double-renewed in 2023, locking in both Season 3 and 4. Writing for the next chapter is already in progress, so fingers crossed for a shorter wait this time.

Meanwhile, Sirens has gracefully slipped to #3, still holding strong despite its miniseries status. While no second season has been confirmed, the numbers suggest Netflix may want to rethink its one-and-done stance.

The Netflix Shuffle Right Now

Also heating up the charts is Tires — Kevin James’ comedy that’s currently parked at #2 — and the new mystery thriller Dept. Q at #4. Though Dept. Q didn’t snag the top spot, it’s earned a near-perfect 94% audience score, not bad for a newcomer from the team behind The Queen’s Gambit.

As for Ginny & Georgia, its return feels less like a continuation and more like a cultural moment. After the longest of waits, it’s finally back — and fans? They’ve already hit “Next Episode.”
